Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle that makes it harder for the heart to pump blood to the rest of your body. There are different types of cardiomyopathy, and the heart muscle can become enlarged, thick, or rigid. In rare cases, the muscle tissue is replaced with scar tissue.
- Breathlessness with exertion or at rest
- Swelling of the legs, ankles, and feet
- Bloating due to fluid buildup
- Fatigue
- Irregular heartbeats
- Dizziness or fainting
