Conditions We Help Diagnose

Learn about common cardiac and vascular conditions that our diagnostic imaging services can help assess. This information is for educational purposes only.

Medical Emergency Notice

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.

Why Early Detection Matters

Understanding these conditions is the first step toward better heart and vascular health.

Early Detection

Many cardiac and vascular conditions can be detected before symptoms become severe.

Accurate Diagnosis

Advanced imaging provides detailed views that help physicians make informed decisions.

Treatment Planning

Diagnostic results guide appropriate treatment strategies and interventions.

The information on this page is for educational purposes only and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice. If you have concerns about your health, please consult with a qualified healthcare provider. Our diagnostic imaging services require a referral from your physician.

Cardiac Conditions

Heart-related conditions affecting the heart muscle, valves, and rhythm

Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary artery disease (CAD) occurs when the major blood vessels that supply your heart become damaged or diseased. Cholesterol-containing deposits (plaque) in your coronary arteries and inflammation are usually the cause of coronary artery disease. When plaque builds up, it narrows your coronary arteries, decreasing blood flow to your heart.

Common Symptoms:

Chest pain or discomfort (angina)Shortness of breathPain in the neck, jaw, throat, or back+2 more

Heart Valve Disorders
Heart Valve Disorders
Heart valve disease occurs when one or more of your heart's four valves don't work properly. The valves may not open or close correctly, disrupting blood flow through your heart. Valve problems can be present at birth or develop over time due to infections, heart disease, or aging.

Common Symptoms:

Heart murmurFatigueShortness of breath+3 more

Arrhythmia (Irregular Heartbeat)
Arrhythmia (Irregular Heartbeat)
An arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat. It means your heart is beating too fast, too slow, or with an irregular pattern. While many arrhythmias are harmless, some can be serious and require treatment. Arrhythmias can cause the heart to pump blood less effectively.

Common Symptoms:

Fluttering in the chestRacing heartbeat (tachycardia)Slow heartbeat (bradycardia)+4 more

Heart Failure
Heart Failure
Heart failure, sometimes called congestive heart failure, occurs when the heart muscle doesn't pump blood as well as it should. It's a chronic condition that can develop gradually. While it sounds alarming, many people live full lives with heart failure when it's properly managed.

Common Symptoms:

Shortness of breath during activity or when lying downFatigue and weaknessSwelling in legs, ankles, and feet+3 more

Cardiomyopathy
Cardiomyopathy
Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle that makes it harder for the heart to pump blood to the rest of your body. There are different types of cardiomyopathy, and the heart muscle can become enlarged, thick, or rigid. In rare cases, the muscle tissue is replaced with scar tissue.

Common Symptoms:

Breathlessness with exertion or at restSwelling of the legs, ankles, and feetBloating due to fluid buildup+3 more

Vascular Conditions

Blood vessel conditions affecting arteries and veins throughout the body

Peripheral Vascular Disease
Peripheral Vascular Disease
Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) is a blood circulation disorder that causes the blood vessels outside of your heart and brain to narrow, block, or spasm. This can happen in your arteries or veins. PVD typically causes pain and fatigue, often in your legs, especially during exercise.

Common Symptoms:

Leg pain when walking (claudication)Leg numbness or weaknessColdness in lower leg or foot+3 more

Educational information only. Not a substitute for medical advice.

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, usually in the legs. DVT can cause leg pain or swelling but can also occur with no symptoms. DVT is serious because blood clots can break loose, travel to your lungs, and block blood flow (pulmonary embolism).

Common Symptoms:

Swelling in the affected legPain or tenderness in the legLeg cramping that often starts in the calf+2 more

Educational information only. Not a substitute for medical advice.

Carotid Artery Disease
Carotid Artery Disease
Carotid artery disease occurs when fatty deposits (plaques) clog the blood vessels that deliver blood to your brain and head (carotid arteries). The blockage increases your risk of stroke, a medical emergency that occurs when the blood supply to your brain is interrupted or seriously reduced.

Common Symptoms:

Often has no symptoms until a stroke or TIA occursSudden numbness or weakness in face or limbsDifficulty speaking or understanding speech+3 more

Know the Signs

When to Seek Medical Attention

If you experience any of these warning signs, consult with your healthcare provider about diagnostic evaluation.

Cardiac Warning Signs

  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Shortness of breath
  • Irregular heartbeat or palpitations
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Unexplained fatigue
  • Swelling in legs, ankles, or feet

Vascular Warning Signs

Understanding Diagnostics

How Diagnostic Imaging Helps

Our portable diagnostic imaging services play a crucial role in the detection and management of cardiac and vascular conditions. Non-invasive imaging allows physicians to visualize the heart and blood vessels without surgery.

Echocardiography

Uses ultrasound to create images of the heart's structure and function.

Vascular Ultrasound

Evaluates blood flow in arteries and veins to detect blockages or clots.

Holter Monitoring

Records heart rhythm over 24-48 hours to detect irregular heartbeats.

Stress Testing

Evaluates heart function during physical exertion or medication-induced stress.
