A breast ultrasound uses sound waves to create images of breast tissue. Our portable ultrasound technology allows us to provide this service at your location for added comfort and convenience. This non-invasive test is often used to evaluate breast lumps, distinguish between solid masses and fluid-filled cysts, and provide additional information about findings seen on mammography. It is particularly useful for women with dense breast tissue.
Preparation Guide
Before Your Visit
- No special preparation is required
- Wear a two-piece outfit for easy access
- Do not apply deodorant, lotion, or powder to the breast area
During Your Visit
- You will lie on your back on an examination table
- The breast being examined will be exposed
- Warm gel will be applied to the breast
- A transducer will be moved across the breast tissue
After Your Visit
- You can resume all normal activities immediately
- The gel will be wiped off
- Results are typically available within 24-48 hours
