This non-invasive test helps diagnose a variety of conditions including ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, and prostate enlargement.
Preparation Guide
Before Your Visit
- You may need a full bladder for the test
- Drink 32 ounces of water 1 hour before your appointment
- Do not empty your bladder before the test
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing
During Your Visit
- You will lie on your back on an examination table
- Warm gel will be applied to your lower abdomen
- A transducer will be moved across your pelvic area
- You may be asked to empty your bladder partway through
After Your Visit
- You can resume all normal activities immediately
- No recovery time is needed
- Results are typically available within 24-48 hours
